What We Do

We gather for worship On the Water and at The LOCC each Sunday.

We study the Bible together at The LOCC, and at the Atlas Community Room.

We help distribute food to those in need twice per month.

We learn about a variety of topics at Lectures on Culture and Classics.

We invite the entire community to join us on a ‘journey’ each Lent, beginning with Community Ash Wednesday, Mid Week events through the season of Lent, and on Good Friday.

We celebrate Reformation Sunday with our Presbyterian and Lutheran friends each year.

We bless the boats on Lake Oconee each May.

We bless our beloved animals each October.

We encourage academic achievement through the Scholarship Challenge in both Greene and Putnam County Schools.

We have fun together at two annual church picnics in May and September and at the First Sunday Christmas Party each December.

We have a Children’s Fine Arts Camp each Summer.

We provide meals for those who are ill or have experienced death in their family.

We discuss an interesting Movie every few weeks.

We raise thousands of dollars for Mission and Benevolence through the Holiday House.

We provide experience to several interns each year through The Collegiate Challenge.

We provide uniforms for Putnam and Greene County school children thru the Clothes Closet.

We encourage 156 children and young adults through the year-round efforts of the Youth Alliance.

We provide four weeks of daily enrichment activities for 140 children at four camps in three locations each June.

We enjoy a Community Fat Tuesday Celebration each year.

We provide a Community Christmas Eve worship experience each year in The Grand Ball Room, The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation.

We provide support and location for Lake Oconee Congregation Chai, which provides First Friday Shabbat, and High Holy Days Services for the Lake Area Jewish Community.

We celebrate our freedom and national heritage each July at the annual Celebration of Freedom.

We provide a Community Sunrise Service on the banks of Lake Oconee each Easter morning.

Each Palm Sunday and First Sunday of December we gather together in one event for a service of music lead by the LOCC Choir.

Twice each year we gather food and financial support through a Spring and a Fall Food Drive to benefit the Greene County Food Pantry and Putnam County Community Resources.
